Sustainability, an increasingly important pillar, also in stand construction
These days, awareness of how to sustainably deal with our planet is becoming increasingly important. It is commonly realized that the earth is not inexhaustible and that things must change. As a result, more and more developments are coming onto the market that encourage this. This may include the reuse of materials, the recycling of waste and the reduction of CO2 emissions, but also the more economical use of natural resources such as gas and water.
The trade fair market is generally known for not being very sustainable. This is partly due to the fact that people from all over the world travel to a location during a trade fair and because many materials were not or hardly reused until very recently.
Within TARGET Group we have also focused our arrows on making the entire production process of our stands more sustainable. We do this largely by focusing more and more on modular stand construction. Modular stand construction has the characteristic that it lasts almost infinitely, so it helps to reduce waste. To summarize everything, TARGET Group has established three pillars that help us determine our direction and focus on sustainability:
- Reduce CO2 emissions
CO2 emissions are an important theme in the world of trade fairs. Flights from all over the world to the trade fair location, consumption at and around the trade fair and of course the many trucks that travel thousands of kilometers to arrive at their destination with the required materials. By purchasing new Iveco trucks that meet the most current CO2 standards, we try to keep our footprint in this area as small as possible. As a result, the kilometers that we have to drive have less influence on the quality of the environment.
- Waste reduction
We do not like throwing away. For this reason we do so-called circular stand construction. Circular stand construction means that all materials used to build an exhibition stand are reused as much as possible. This is not only environmentally friendly, but also cost-effective for you as a customer.
- Use of environmentally friendly materials
Where possible, we also use materials that have been produced in a sustainable way, or materials that are reusable or easily degradable. This includes water-based paint, environmentally-friendly printing foils and inks and degradable packaging materials. In addition, we also use FSC qualified wood.
